Let me just tell
you this. We have 4 trampolines on the street where we
live. The neighborhood kids can literally jump around
all day! Some still have the safety net intact...ours
does not.
Anyway, this past month, Wyatt came home and said, "Mom,
you've got to come see what we did!" I thought maybe
another makeshift skateboard ramp or maybe a new "fort"
out of sticks and firewood. I was incorrect.
The trampoline at the top of the street still has all
the safety net enclosures and the poles extend about 5
or 6 feet taller than the trampoline.
I walked up and my jaw dropped. Wyatt excitedly showed
me the "Urkel Plop" and the "Devil's Drop". Well, the
boys had gotten Jacob's ladder (get it, Jacob's
Ladder)…well, it was Jacob's grandfather's ladder and
leaned it against the top of the safety net. They had
put cinder blocks at the base, so the bottom wouldn't
fly up.
One by one, each child would climb up, about 10 or more
feet in the air… and would jump off onto the trampoline.
They would scream words like, "Swan-Taan" and "Whisper
in the Wind", which I have since learned are "wrestling
moves".
It was quite entertaining and at the same time
frightening.
When I was younger, I did things like this too and never
thought anything about it. Oh, to have faith like a
child again. Why can't we be like that? I explained to
Wyatt about breaking his neck and what that actually
meant...needless to say, the ladders came down!
I hope that you have faith in whatever you are facing
this day. Happy Summer!
Sandy
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell
you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard
seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to
there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for
you."
