Snip-it from Sandy

Other Snip-its

I am sitting here typing from Myrtle Beach, SC. I am in a hotel lobby that I will probably never be in again in my life. You might not be aware how many times the word "Snip-it" pops into my head throughout the week. I am always looking for an inspiration. Well, this month I had it narrowed down to two things...God's majestic creations of the beautiful ocean or about the paths that we take. Then this morning I was in the hotel elevator and noticed a guy in front of me wearing a Claremont Rescue t-shirt. In case you don't know, my hometown is Claremont, NC. I tapped him on the arm and said, "Do you live in Claremont?" His reply was yes and I asked his name. I'll say it was "Oliver Hossenfeffer" just to protect his identity from any scandalous Snip-It Expo that might appear later in some nasty tabloid expose'! haha. Anyway, I replied to him, "Bunker Hill High School Class of ?" And he said, "Yeah!" It was so funny to see someone that I had not seen in a long time and to end up on the same elevator at the same hotel at the same vacation spot.

When I was a Freshman in High School, my friend Sherry was asked to the Jr/Sr. Prom by her boyfriend who was a Junior. She wanted me to go too and said that she would find me a date. Well, she came up with 'Oliver' because he needed a date. As I remember, 'Oliver' called me and asked me to the prom. There was no other conversation, no other talk of going out to grab a pizza, nothing! I declined the invitation because I didn't even know him and sorry "Oliver" there was no attraction at all and I wasn't going to use someone just for a ticket to go to the prom! But, you know what...What if I had accepted that invitation? What if we hit it off? Where would I be now? Well, I guess I would still be at the beach with my family on a hot July day! ha hah Do you ever wonder, "How did I get here?" "How did I get to this point in my life?"

Life is full of "What ifs" and sometimes I hate that! We have to remember several things. One is if someone from your past is no longer in your present, maybe that's because they are not supposed to be in your future! Secondly, we would not be the person we are today, if we had not gone through the joys, trials and triumphs in our lives. Another thought is this...If we all threw our problems in a pile and then had to draw out the same number that we put in...Then we would probably choose those same problems and THANK GOD for our MANY blessings! Lastly, just let Jesus take the wheel and he will help you find your path...even if it's in a hotel lobby at 1:00 a.m! Blessings to all! :) Sandy
