Snip-it from Sandy

Other Snip-its

Well, I knew as soon as it happened, that I had my Snip-It for the month! Thank You Lord, for showing me in such a profound way!

Our family recently enjoyed a long awaited trip to the beach. We walked out onto the beach with new beach chairs, beach bag and boogie boards in tow.

I was wearing my pretty, orange paisley bikini with sequins. I had on my small gold hoop earrings and golden lip gloss that accentuated my suit. My waterproof mascara and eyeliner was properly applied. My hair was just right, all cute and twisted up in a clip with just enough curls at the top. I had just applied the right SPF everywhere.

I felt good. I felt good about myself and about my surroundings. I sat back and breathed in the sea air, listened to the ocean and welcomed the warm sun on my face. It was peaceful, nice and very much needed. After a few moments of relaxing, I decided to go ride a few waves to cool off. I borrowed Wyatt's boogie board, because I was a pro, but it had been a couple of years since our last beach trip. Wyatt kept cheering me on, "Come on Mom, you can do it!" Tim kept saying, "Get in front of the wave right before it breaks, you gotta get in front of it!" So, I did.

A big wave came, Tim gave me a little push and there I went...head into the water at just the right angle for whiplash, nose toward the sky, of course, my body flipping under the water like I was made of rubber and had no bones! Head over heels I literally FLIPPED!

As I gained my composure and stood up, I noticed that my cute hairdo was now a frumpled mess of tangles and sand hanging in my face with the clip still intact...I'm sure it was quite lovely! I noticed that the salt water that had been forced up my nose and down my throat was burning immensely! My knees were scratched up from the sand and shells as I had been dragged into what felt like a water wheel! There were flakes of waterproof mascara in my eyes...And my sunglasses were no where to be found!

I'm sure you have the mental picture...let me just say that I appreciate all of God's majestic creations...especially the power of the ocean! Thank You Lord, for sparing my life and still showing me who is in control. Amen!
