If you are a Medicare recipient, you are probably finding everyday advertisements in your mailbox for Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplements, and Medicare Drug Plans from various insurance companies. So this is Open Enrollment, the time of year when you can change your Medicare insurance plans for next year. You can call one of the insurance companies, talk with an agent and choose one of their plans, or you can go to Medicare.gov and look at all the plans available in your zip code from all companies and choose the plan that covers all your medications at the lowest price. If you need unbiased help in doing this, I will be happy to show you all plans available to you from all companies. I can discuss with you all the plan details, and all the costs involved and tell you exactly what each of your drugs will cost next year. We can compare your current plan (with all the changes for next year) with any new plan you may be interested in to see what is best for you. If you are happy with your current plan, don’t assume it will be the same next year. It pays to look at what the changes will be so that when you go to the pharmacy next year for your prescriptions you will not experience any unpleasant surprises. My goal is to help you to pay no more than necessary for your prescriptions next year. We can do this by appointment, over the phone, or at the Welcome Table (November 14, 21, 28.) If you would like to talk with me about this, or make an appointment, please call the church office at (828) 667-3950.
I will also be doing Medicare Drug Plan Reviews on November 14, 21 and 28, and also December 5.
